This position is an Open Title 5 Excepted Service Non-Uniformed position, open to the Public and to Veterans following the MN National Guard Merit Placement plan. AGENCY: MN Air & Army National Guard LOCATION: Little Falls, MN SELECTION OFFICAL: MAJ Janelle Johnson, 320-616-2710 This is an Excepted Service position in the MN National Guard. Membership in the National Guard is not required. Competitive service employees may apply however will be converted to Excepted service if hired.

Duties

Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list A TRAINING INSTRUCTOR, GS-1712-9, Conducts training through classroom presentations and practical exercises. Serves as Virtual Training Aids Devices Simulators & Simulations (TADSS) Training Instructor for the training development and instructional work in simulations for the TSC to include but not limited to the Engagement Skills Trainer 2 (EST2), the Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT), Virtual Convoy Operations Trainer (VCOT), and the Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 2 Gaming System and training, aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS) related to the Synthetic Training Environment (STE). Follows a prescribed training program as outlined by Department of the Army (DA). Contacts and utilizes the expertise of National Simulation Center training and simulation agencies and NGB-ARNG Training Support (TRS) for maintaining a current training program which meets DA regulatory requirements. Presents platform and practical instruction to students (includes conducting conferences, practical exercises, lectures, and other activities), follows established lesson plans. Develops training Programs of Instruction (POi's), lesson plans, advance sheets and related materials for school and student use covering assigned blocks of material, reviews available materials to determine desired changes. Makes changes in material, including supporting documents, aids and devices, and manner of platform and practical presentation, insuring conformance to applicable format and regulatory guidance. Provides guidance on the application of training materials; training techniques appropriate for classroom presentation and hands-on practical exercises on Engagement Skills Trainer, VCOT, CFFT, and various other TADSS including STE TADSS when fielded; compliance with regulations, standard operating procedures concerning training and proficiency of task-oriented skills. Practical exercise training: Conducts training exercises in the use and functions of all available TADSS used by the Active Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard, other DoD agencies, and other entities as directed. Evaluates performance of members to determine effectiveness of training and provides advice and assistance in improving performance. Evaluates effectiveness of training on task-oriented skills using the virtual simulations. Provides advice and make recommendations to the using unit on training issues. Drafts input and correspondence regarding virtual simulation training to the Senior Training Instructor or Training Support Officer. Reviews and provides written response on draft circulars, field manuals and other publications pertaining to virtual simulation training. Prepares and submits for approval the annual training and development plan which identifies training needs and instructional resources to meet training requirements. Use the Range Facility Management System (RFMSS) to schedules TADSS, classrooms and practical exercise training courses on a continuing basis using. Performs other duties as assigned.
