This position is in the Office of Research and Development, Center for Environmental Measure and Modeling, Gulf Ecosystem Measure and Modeling Division, Program Operations Staff.  About:  The Office of Research and Development (ORD) This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. *Work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as leading or organizing research and administrative support services; planning and conducting program analyses; and advising on administrative policies and programs. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  Skill in applying administrative policies, programs, and processes. Ability to perform a full range of supervisory duties. Ability to lead the operations of a stand-alone research facility. Ability to work across organizational boundaries to achieve goals. Skill in budget management. Skill in contract management. Skill in communicating information to diverse audiences. Ability to perform workforce and succession planning. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
