About the Position: TERM Appointment Position NTE 2 Years.
Duties
Oversees and coordinates programs and activities related to First Army's G-5 Operations and training programs through the Command.
Provides advice and recommendations to the G-5 on all aspects of Division operations and management.
Developing/revising/setting overall organizational policies, objectives and procedures necessary for program accomplishment and effectiveness for all facets of G-5 functions
Manages the planning efforts of military and civilian planners engaged in supporting assigned Forces Command missions and contingency requirements.
Mentoring civilian and military personnel regarding their career development planning.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience required for GS-14: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: overseeing operations, strategy and planning in accordance with policies and procedures to meet mission requirements; administering program plans and objectives to provide effective management towards accomplishing the division mission; serve as a liaison/contact with high level officials to represent Command at conferences/meetings; analyze and provide interpretation of plans and programs to ensure effective development and implementation; serve as military planning expert and/or program/project lead ensuring that goals are met; assist management with daily personnel operations/functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
