Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative services and support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida. Focusing in a variety of areas within financial management, human resources, administration, and office automation support. Typical work assignments will include:
Performing limited or routine technical support duties.
Providing technical assistance and processing support to human resources specialists with time and attendance.
Providing technical assistance and processing support to budget analysts.
Assisting in a variety of administrative services activities.
Drafting correspondence, documents and reports with the use of office automation programs.
Performing receptionist duties.
Greet visitors and address incoming caller inquires.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the GS-6, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: performing routine technical and administrative support in one or both of the following program areas: financial management or human resources. Duties are described as: reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness; resolves routine budget inquiries; assist with timekeeping; handling in person visitors and addressing incoming callers inquires; using automated software to programs to create, copy, edit, store and print a variety of documents and reports. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service and could have been gained in the federal, public, or private sector.
To be eligible for the GS-7, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service Specialized experience: performing a variety of technical and administrative support in both of the following program areas: financial management and human resources. Duties are described as: assist in researching, identifying, and explaining financial data, or general employee benefits; maintains and processes time and attendance; inputting and reviewing documents for accuracy; receives and resolves incoming callers inquires; using various software programs to create and prepare correspondence, and reports. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal service and could have been gained in the federal, public, or private sector.
AND
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors (A typing test may later be required).
