The primary purpose of this position is to serve as executive services specialist, assisting the Commander, Vice Commander, Command Chief and Director of Staff with administrative actions in execution of daily operations for the 375 Air Mobility Wing. Directs executive scheduling and administrative support functions ensuring the day-to-day administrative operations.
Duties
Serves as the principal office assistant to the Wing leadership on programs and initiatives.
Maintains Wing Commander's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences.
Plans and organizes executive support services, functions, and activities.
Focal point for and provides quality control review of civilian and military personnel management activities to include training, performance appraisals, awards and decorations and other related areas.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, General Administrative, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes ensuring timely processing of performance reports, awards, and personnel actions; coordinating events for distinguished visitors; and using office automation software programs, tools and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents and presentations. Reviewing and processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports and other materials submitted for signature. Establishing and monitoring suspense dates and bringing to supervisor's attention those that cannot be met by requested date or when there is a conflict. Informing supervisor of conflicts, rescheduling appointments when the supervisor will not be able to make all commitments, contacting other people to attend meetings in lieu of supervisor when necessary, and making calendar available to supervisor and others to minimize conflicts in scheduling.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-08 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of organization missions and staff operations management concepts, principles, methodologies, major issues, goals, objectives, and organizational structure.
2. Skill in conducting interviews with supervisors and employees to obtain information about organizational
missions, functions, and work procedures.
3. Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze information to support organizational decision-making.
4. Knowledge of office functions with the ability to develop, prepare, coordinate, staff and implement administrative procedures, programs, correspondence, reports and directives that are grammatically correct in addition to correct spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
6. Skill in typing with the knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools and techniques to support office operations/ production of various documents with the ability to access or locate information through the use of a personal computer and software programs.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
