You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER of NSA SOUTH POTOMAC.

Duties

You will direct an organization's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergency management exercises, actual disasters, or incidents. You will write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other guidance to support Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operations. You will initiate and orchestrate upgrades and improvements to Emergency Operations Center (EOC) systems. You will analyze methods and techniques to improve emergency response capabilities. You will brief senior leaders on emergency management program initiatives and plans. You will determine resource and procedural requirements for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) functions to confirm funding is sufficient.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Organizing or coordinating the operations of an Emergency Operations Center (EOC); 2) Managing or coordinating the operation, exercise or maintenance of a Mass Warning and Notification System(s). 3) Developing, implementing or maintaining emergency management plans, procedures and reports. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
