You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the NAVFAC Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division (FEAD) within Public Works Department Earle of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will be knowledgeable about NAVFAC contract safety requirements, as well as applicable Federal, State, local, and host nation (as applicable) laws and regulations as it pertains to construction effort. You will ensure contractor is conducting monthly site safety-evaluations and submitting the information with the pay vouchers/invoices. You will perform worksite safety assessments as needed. You will troubleshoot project issues to ensure that work is completed on schedule. You will perform final inspections to verify contractor job accomplishments for compliance, accuracy and completeness of work ordered. You will analyze performance measures to provide policy or process change recommendations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1)Possesses extensive technical and practical knowledge and experience as an engineering or architectural technician; 2) Understands engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with the layout and supervision of construction operations; 3) Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods; 4) Possesses knowledge of safety and occupation health regulations; 5) Uses a computer and software as they relate to Construction Quality Management.
