This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Electro Group in Baltimore, MD.
Duties
You will perform a wide variety of routine ordnance equipment trade tasks involved in the maintenance, overhaul and conversion of a wide variety of types and sizes of ordnance equipment components and in connection with miscellaneous manufacturing projects.Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member. Typical duties include:* Working on clear-cut work orders and instructions, working from blueprints, schematics, drawings, sketches, and specifications.* Installing, overhauling, modifying, and repairing defective mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic elements of ordnance equipment such as MK 75 76MM and MK 38 25MM guns and mounts, 50 caliber mounts, and CAS ANT MK53.* Assembling, adjusting and testing individual parts, subassemblies and complete units, using gauges, meters, and intricate test equipment.* Measuring operating characteristics of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic elements.* Maintaining, modifying and operating the testing and measuring instruments and apparatus and constructing special mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical units and jigs, using hand tools, blueprints and service manuals.

- Drug/Alcohol test required.
- This position requires a Secret clearance.
Qualifications

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
