You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT KITSAP, PRODUCTION DIVISION, MAINTENANCE CONTROL BRANCH of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will serve as a Training Specialist for Public Works Department Kitsap, Production Division, Maintenance Control Branch, Training Department. You will work with Training Leaders and Coordinators to ensure all training requirements are met and documented. You will develop training materials through the analysis of educational or instructional problems or questions, establish design criteria and develop new approaches, methods, or techniques. You will schedule, facilitate and provide various New Employee Orientation training You will manage multiple tasks (i.e., training coursed, events), organize, follow instructions, communicate, gain cooperation, work independently and as a team member. You will coordinate with and lead others to ensure high quality training support to employees and instructors. You will research and provide online resources for free son-site training and vendors.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching source information in order to produce or revise original material to incorporate different developments, approaches or different fields of knowledge with educational technology; 2) Tracking, monitoring, and reporting training readiness in support of operation; 3) Analyzing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to assist with training plans and identify gaps in available training; 4) Utilizing training methods and teaching techniques to development curriculum and testing for formal training environment; 4) Coordinating with the facilities manager to ensure additions or modifications to air terminal facilities meet existing safety/security requirements. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.B. or J.D., if related
