VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU The Community Engagement and Partnerships Coordinator (CEPC) supports effective coalition building and community-driven public health strategy implementation. CBI-SP defines a coalition as a community-based group of individuals and organizations working on any or all of the Priority Areas with the common goal of working towards ending suicide among all Service members, Veterans and their Families (SMVF). Pursuit of new coalitions (i.e., Coalition Development) considers landscape analysis, geographic reach, priority area coverage, as well other risk factors that may guide strategic considerations. Coalition Management may include balancing the number of a coalitions facilitated with the ability to provide the appropriate level of technical assistance to each coalition based on phase, growth rate, leadership readiness, and sustainability status. The CEPC provides technical assistance to community coalitions using facilitation skills and resources provided by CBI-SP. Technical assistance can be provided to community partners though interactions in multiple settings, such as Meetings, Community Events, and Trainings. The CEPC may need to develop and deliver training content to community partners, incorporating relevant research findings, as well as suicide prevention best practices. Training topics may include (but are not limited to): VA SAVE and other Gatekeeper Trainings, CBI-SP Public Health Model, Identifying SMVF, Screening for Suicide Risk, Connectedness, Improving Care Transitions, Lethal Means Safety and Safety Planning. CEPCs may utilize multimedia campaign materials (e.g., brochures, videos, outreach items) to educate and engage target audiences. The CEPC will complete a landscape analysis to help determine areas where efforts will have the most impact. CEPC activities are designed to enhance and further community engagement, as positive engagement can improve community climate outcomes (e.g., knowledge and attitudes about Veterans, VA, suicide, lethal means, etc.). CEPC efforts should primarily be focused on Coalition Building and Management, with Training and Awareness being a portion of the CEPC role. The CEPC will maintain knowledge of best practices in suicide prevention and be aware of current trends in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. The full breadth of VA suicide prevention resources and education is available to support CEPC efforts. CBI-SP provides multiple modes of education and technical support, including written guidance, educational documents, recorded foundational training content, as well as a monthly national training webinar and a monthly community of practice meeting. CEPC attendance is important to maintain program knowledge and stay abreast of current trends, highlighted resources and promising practices. A crucial part of Coalition Development and Management is monitoring each coalition and tracking progress. The CEPC will utilize the CBI-SP Portal to document coalition progress, activities, and other aspects of monitoring. The CEPC should utilize the CBI-SP Program Management Dashboard to identify gaps and opportunities in coalition development and growth, track coalition progress, and verify data entered into the CBI-SP Portal is correct. Data entered into the CBI-SP Portal is integral to coalition development and management. CBI-SP Program Managers will routinely audit data via reports to identify errors and omissions and seek corrective actions from the CEPC. The CEPC is a 100% administrative non-clinical positions. The CEPC provides highly specialized technical assistance to communities in order to implement strategies to support suicide prevention efforts. CEPC duties require flexibility and prioritization based upon community needs.
