You will serve as a Materials Handler Leader of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will perform a full range of warehousing duties with responsibility over handling and overseeing multiple products lines and segments of a large warehouse. You will articulate daily work assignments, instructions and work plan received from warehouse supervisor to lower graded employees. You will establish work pace and demonstrate proper work methods. You will organize and coordinate an effective material receiving operation. You will operate one or more electric, propane gas, or diesel powered fork lift trucks.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. I have the ability to perform the work of a WL-06 Materials Handler Leader, as demonstrated by experience, working under normal supervision leading and/or mentoring warehouse workers in accomplishing a full range of warehouse functions such as; receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with requirements; documenting damage; reading and preparing shipping documents; reviewing warehouse plans and storage areas to recommend consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; using computer systems to maintain and produce required data; conduct inventories to make sure they are properly performed; operate one or more types of trucks, such as platform trucks, van trucks and stake trucks.
