This position is part of the Blackfeet Dormitory, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Home Living Specialist you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the education activities of the school to include planning, developing, directing and conducting BIE school programs.
Duties
As a Home Living Specialist CY-1710-11, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experience.
Oversee the budget program, acquisitions, and HR services.
Provide high quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe's need for cultural and economic well-being.
Administer short and long range planning, organizing, controlling, execution, maintenance and coordination of the Blackfeet Dormitory's budget activities.
Conduct computer operations of Federal computer programs, including Financial and Business Management System (FBMS), Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS), Internet, and various word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs, Bureau computer tracking programs.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation for Public Trust position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a background clearance.
- Must possess and Maintain valid state driver's license.

Qualifications: In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements contained in the approved job category for P.L. 95-561 described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Education Requirement:
To qualify for a pay level, you must have completed the degree requirement and if stated the required semester hours at the next level of education from an accredited university in a related field of study.
Basic Education Requirement for Pay Level 11-17: Applicants will have successfully completed a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree which includes or is supplemented by a minimum of 24 semester hours in education, counseling or psychology, of which 12 semester hours will be in guidance, counseling or psychology courses directly related to education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
Pay Level Requirements: To qualify for a pay level, you must have completed the degree requirement and if stated the required semester hours at the next level of education from an accredited university in a related field of study.
Pay Level 11 requires a Bachelor's Degree
Pay Level 12 requires a Bachelor's Degree and fifteen semester hours towards a Master's Degree
Pay Level 13 requires a Bachelor's Degree and thirty semester hours towards a Master's Degree
Pay Level 14 requires a Master's Degree
Pay Level 15 requires a Master's Degree and fifteen semester hours towards a Doctorate
Pay Level 16 requires a Master's Degree and thirty semester hours towards a Doctorate
Pay Level 17 requires a earned Doctorate
