Duties
Examine equipment/material for defective parts and functional operation.
Perform complex searches of equipment records, specifications and manufacturer manuals to identify similarities or differences in similar items in order to properly catalog and identify.
Compare specifications such as technical orders, catalog drawings and schematics against shipping documents.
Examine and identify items such as equipment and parts using references to establish identification.
Move material to pre-designated locations based on receiving documents.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Required to obtain and maintain within six month of placement into the position a forklift operator's license.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Examiner and Identifier without more than normal supervision to include: examining and identifying common categories of materials and returned equipment to include newly procured, fabricated or repaired items and interpreting documentation to make determinations of material coding. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Physical Efforts: Work requires active physical effort including extensive walking, bending, stooping and pushing and pulling heavy material. May require heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works inside on concrete floors in adequately lighted and ventilated areas but may be called upon to work out of doors in all kinds of weather. May be subject to cuts, bruises, abrasions and scrapes in moving or handling materials. May be subject to hazards of working close to moving equipment. The incumbent is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for this position.
