About the Position: As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will oversee work objectives, responsibilities, policies, and priorities regarding office management, program assistance, project coordination, office automation and administrative support. This position is located at HQ US FORSCOM in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Maintains internal control of staff and administrative actions throughout the directorate.
Implements executive direction and manages the day-to-day operations by coordinating functions of the Commander's staff (advisory, administrative and technical).
Responsible for the planning and coordinating all travel for the G-1 and Assistant G-1.
Coordinates and performs data collection from program manager on variety of subjects that include but not limited to financial review and analysis, budget preparation and formational briefings.
Manages the tasking and suspense system and directorate distribution by applying knowledge of the organization and missions to ensure timely and accurate identification of staff responsibilities.
Makes recommendations affecting both the internal and external directorate administrative programs as well as elements of the Directorates Internal Financial/Human Resources Management programs.
Serves as the designated staff action control assistant responsible for maintaining the established suspense tracking system, modifying or recommending administrative procedures, and improving operations.
Composes official, semiofficial, and personal correspondence such as messages and letters from private business concerns, etc.
Provides a variety of support services (i.e. graphic art/audiovisual support; Mail and Distribution Program support, manage FORSNET access, and maintains security oversight) for the G-1 Directorate.
Assists with special projects (i.e. DCPDS OTA, DTS, Time and Attendance, Budget and Funds).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position may require 5% TDY travel from your normal duty station.
- One-year probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing overall guidance and control of work objectives, responsibilities, policies, and priorities regarding office management, program assistance, project coordination, office automation and administrative support; AND managing the planning of all travel, maintaining time and attendance for personnel, and assisting with special projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organization or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
