Duties

The selectee will serve as an Investigative Analyst in the Office of Investigations, Seattle Field Office. Typical work assignments include: Identifying analytical approaches and formulating strategies for data retrieval and analysis, trends, relationships, and/or profile analysis purposes. Participating as an active member on anti-crime task forces, providing criminal research and analytical assistance pertaining to on-going investigations. Drafting written documents and presenting research finding to applicable stakeholders. Conducting research on electronic crime, cybercrime, credit card theft, money laundering, fraud, counterfeiting of U.S. currency and obligations, terrorism, and other financial crimes. Maintaining ongoing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Investigative Analyst position starts at a base salary of $115,793 (GS-13 step 1) with potential salary to $150,535 (GS-13 step 10).

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $115,793.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: Analyzing data from multiple sources to provide guidance on investigations. Evaluating the impact of criminal trends and/or patterns to determine additional investigative steps. Working with stakeholders within the law enforcement and/or private sector communities to advance criminal investigations. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Interagency/Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP/CTAP): This program applies to Federal service employees whose positions have been deemed surplus or no longer needed, or employees who have been involuntarily separated from a Federal service position within the competitive service.
