The Office of Inspector General is an independent office within the EPA that helps the agency protect the environment in a more efficient & cost effective manner. We perform audits, evaluations, & investigations of the EPA to promote economy, efficiency, and to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse. We strive to provide solutions to problems that ultimately result in making America a cleaner and healthier place.
Duties
This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Immediate Office. The Office of Inspector General is an independent office within EPA that helps the agency protect the environment in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. We consist of auditors, program analysts, investigators, and others with extensive expertise. Although we are a part of EPA, Congress provides us with our funding separate from the agency, to ensure our independence.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Applicant must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-15 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal Service.
To qualify for the GS-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience establishing program objectives to ensure that organizational goals and requirements are met; AND
Experience developing short and long-term plans, policies and directives, and guidance to support organizational priorities and program requirements; AND
Experience in the analysis of program effectiveness, efficiency, cost effectiveness, schedule adherence and measurement of program accomplishments and results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
