THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a WG-2892-11 AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1549P01 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing.
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Temporary vacancy NTE one year in the Excepted Service. This is a bargaining position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.
Duties
Performs functional tests, analyzes performance and troubleshoots the electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical functions of subsystems.
Interprets analog and digital operational and output characteristics and results from the Maintenance Annunciation Panel (MAP), onboard computers, aircrew debriefings and specialized test equipment.
Removes, repairs, calibrates, installs, aligns, inspects, and conducts operational performance checkouts on the components of the electronic/electrical and environmental systems.
Diagnoses circuit operating characteristics using on-board computer, special test equipment and laptop computers to isolates problems to the failing component.
Removes and replaces components or assemblies down to the lowest level authorized by depot.
Performs recurring inspections and system tests of the life support and the electronic/electrical and environmental system to certify aircraft are ready for flight.
Modifies and updates electrical and environmental support equipment according to applicable technical publications.
Maintains and operates various types of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, diagnostic computers, digital and analog multi-meters, constant speed drive test stands, voltmeters, ammeters, etc.
Performs precise and advanced wiring maintenance procedures on aircraft.
Utilizes computer data and specialized test equipment to interpret equipment analog/digital operational characteristics to isolate malfunctions in the appropriate sub-systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri Air National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the Missouri Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Missouri Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- The duties performed in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position must directly relate to the position to which appointed and such qualifications are necessary to achieve an important agency mission or performance goal to be eligible.
- Advanced in hire rate may be granted to set pay above the minimum rate of the grade for a new employee if he/she possesses superior qualifications relevant to the positions' requirements and is essential to accomplish the agency's mission.
- Under a temporary appointment, employment is subject to termination at any time.
- This position can be filled up to four years as long as funds are available to support it.
- In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.
Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Since the position is temporary in nature, the compatibility requirements will be waived for a period of time not to exceed one year. Selecting official must verify that selected individual is currently assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard and that the selection does not create grade inversion.
Maximum Military Grade: SSgt (E-5)
Minimum Military Grade: Amn (E-2)
Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems; reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience in analyzing malfunctions, troubleshooting, removing, installing, repairing, modifying, maintaining, testing, aligning, calibrating and certifying the components of aircraft electronic/electrical and environmental systems. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to diagnose malfunctions and determine remedy when complex relationships exists among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems; make electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools; setup and operate computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies.

THE PERSONNEL SECURITY SENSITIVITY LEVEL OF THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED AS SECRET SPECIAL ACCESS REQUIRED (SAR). MEMBER MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PERSONNEL RELIABILITY PROGRAM (PRP), NUCLEAR SURETY PROGRAM.
