This position is located on a Forest Service unit. The incumbent is responsible for performing duties of a supply clerk as well as a property clerk.
Duties
Records property transactions on property records.
Takes physical inventories of accountable property.
Reconciles property record card balances with inventories.
Monitors the inventory of forms and common stock items and determines when stocks fall below predetermined level.
Prepares requisitions for needed items.
Receives, checks, and warehouses stock deliveries.
Issues and receives accountable forms and supplies.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.

Qualifications

GS-03: Applicants must have six months of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work which provided the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position being filled; OR one year of successfully completed education above high school; OR combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Examples of specialized experience includes: Greets visitors and answers telephone, routing calls or personally giving information when routine or procedural matters are involved. Provides overall support to the administrative staff on the unit. Serves as Collection Officer to sell and maintains accountability records as required. Performs timekeeping duties. Determines supplies needed for the office staff. Prepares the necessary requisition/procurement requests and receives and distributes supplies and special-order items. Uses word processing software and database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort, or calculate, and retrieve data.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
