About the Position: This position is with Evans Army Community Hospital, Department of Pharmacy-Inpatient Services. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Serve as a professional pharmacist in an inpatient pharmacies; compound prescriptions of physicians, dentist, and other licensed practitioners. Formulate, prepare, bulk compound, dispense and preserve drugs, medicines, and chemicals. Advise on drug therapy and usage; or perform administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work concerning the administration of a pharmacy program for hospital, clinic, or other medical care facility. Performs day-to-day management of the Pharmacy Service budget to include projection to new fiscal year expenditures. Conducts and oversees the pharmacy Service Drug Quality Control program. As a Supervisory Pharmacist, you may also supervise Pharmacy Technicians in performance of work related to sterile products, prescription filing, and ward/clinic supply. As a Supervisory Pharmacist, you may also provide authoritative professional guidance on problems of difficult, complex, or unusual nature.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Secret Clearance is required
  • A pre-placement medical examination may be required
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges'
  • Position is be designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to season influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Advance certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting may be required.
  • Work schedule requires shift work or rotating shifts (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • One year probationary period may be required.
  • For Supervisory positions, one-year supervisory probationary period is required.

Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Degree: Completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. Qualifications GS-12: Specialized Experience is defined as at least one year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication and preparing pharmaceuticals,
