You will serve as a PLUMBER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will inspect and test systems and equipment for correct operation, flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions. You will lay out the installation and modification of systems, level of gas and water lines, and the location or arrangement of water closets, sinks, or fire sprinkler equipment. You will lay out the routing, placement, slant, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Requires knowledge of how various supply, disposal, and utility systems and equipment, such as water and gas systems, fire sprinkler equipment, and water closets, are installed and operate; 2) May be required to work on high- and low-pressure systems such as steam, compressed air lines, water, etc.; 3) Ability to plan and lay out the installation and modification of various systems and equipment, for example, the routing, openings, slant, and level of gas and water lines, and the location and arrangement of water closets, sinks, and fire sprinkler equipment; 4) Ability to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints and apply shop mathematics to determine and lay out piping systems and plumbing to include angles, arcs, and circles. **NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume.** Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification Handbook for Trades and Labor Occupations.
