This position is located within the medical or specialty clinic of the Pawnee Indian Health Center in Pawnee, OK. The purpose of this position is to manage the appointment system, serve as receptionist, assist with clerical duties, enter and schedule non Purchase Referred Care (PRC) referrals for the Pawnee Indian Health Center. Incumbent reports to the Supervisory Clinical Nurse.
Duties
Schedules patient appointments based upon provider schedule using a computerized scheduling system.
Uses manual, electronic, and automated systems to perform a variety of assigned tasks in support of the department.
Accepts incoming calls and provides customer service by scheduling, providing information, or transferring caller to appropriate clinic or provider.
Communicates with healthcare team regarding appointment scheduling, non-PRC referrals, and patient requests.
Provides tactful and professional customer service to patients.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Applicants must meet the following typing proficiency: 40 words per minute based on a five-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of general experience. General Experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to perform the duties of this position.
OR
Two (2) years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify an applicant for the GS-04 level.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
