About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, located in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
Duties
Perform onsite inspections to monitor shipping contractor's performance during packing of household goods.
Process inbound/outbound inspection data utilizing automated systems such as Transportation Operations Property System (TOPS) and Defense Personal Property System (DPS).
Utilize automated systems to produce correspondence such as inspections reports, deficiency reports, etc.
Recommend corrective actions when contractor deficiencies such as improper packing and/or loading are encountered.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent may be required to work overtime on short notice.
- This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, or holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience (GS-06): One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Monitoring, observing and/ or evaluating operations; and 2) Detecting unsatisfactory conditions and/ or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
