You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT i in the Office of Counsel of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-12373732-24-DLC. Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.

Duties

You will use independent judgment in determining the applicable guidelines and procedures to follow up to set up hearings depending on specific type of case. You will review historical data and identify annual funding needs and track expenditures. You will provide assistance as needed for Counsel and other staff attorneys. You will perform research in source documents and files to provide answers, background, and attachments for legal communications and documents. You will type, edit, format and print a wide variety of documents for the office staff, including correspondence, technical reports, organizational proposals and justifications, technical notes.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Georgia Notary within 12 months of employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
