The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is November through May for both locations, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: November 2024.

Duties
Performs motor vehicle operator duties such as:
Drives various sizes of trucks with trailers to transport equipment, personnel, and tools to jobsites to conduct routine trail maintenance.
Knowledge and ability to safely use and maintain hand and power tools of various trades.
Does manual labor tasks, such as, cleaning drainage ditches, raking, and shoveling.
Uses equipment to perform trail side brushing and clearing of debris.
Follow written instructions, maintenance standards and standard operating procedures to perform tasks.
Physical Demands: Moderate physical effort may be required in making couplings between the vehicle and towed equipment. Considerable physical effort may be required in backing of vehicles, to change tires, and make limited emergency repairs. Required to frequently lift items weighing over 50 pounds. Work also involves climbing of ladders, scaffolding, and working in and around power tools and equipment.
Working Conditions: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Operates vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads and is exposed to the danger of serious accidents.
The duty stations for the parks are:
10 vacancies - San Francisco, California, work season is November-May, salary information
2 vacancies - Sausalito, California, work season and salary are the same above.
