About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Subject Program Manager for Section 106/Cultural Resources and Tribal Issues.
Duties
Provide timely and authoritative advice to the DE, Regulatory Chief, other supervisors and staff on tribal and historical consultation requirements, guidance, protocols, and best practices.
Serve as the District Regulatory tribal and cultural resources liaison.
Participate in government-to-government consultations with various Native American tribes with interest in projects affecting properties and resources for which they consider to be important to their heritage.
Mentor and assist project managers on the roles and responsibilities for the Regulatory Division concerning NHPA and tribal trust issues, including a regulatory scope of analysis and permit area definitions as it relates to these issues.
Provide expert technical advice and assistance to Regulators throughout the division on complex issues.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting two of the following: 1) Serve as a Regulatory Subject Matter Expert; 2) Apply extensive professional knowledge related to the permit and enforcement processes; 3) Work effectively with stakeholders ; and/or 4) Ensure compliance with organizational policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
