Duties
You will perform technical management of a skilled workforce consisting of a team of Engineering Technicians (HVAC mechanical).
You will provide guidance on the preventive maintenance of building HVAC service equipment
You will conduct regular evaluations of facility heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC) system performance and make recommendations for corrective actions or projects.
You will review commercial Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) designs for compliance with applicable codes and sound engineering practices.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to
CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for
extended periods of time.

Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used toscreen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must possess current registration as a Professional Engineer.
In addition to the selective placement factor, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Using advanced facilities maintenance knowledge to solve unique problems with experimental theories and new developments;
Reviewing commercial Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) projects for compliance with applicable codes and sound engineering practices;
Using knowledge of facility systems to assess the safety and operational impact of proposed actions; and
Providing guidance to a staff of engineering technicians on the practical operational, mechanical, and electrical characteristics of a wide range of facility systems.
