This position is located in Management Directorate, Office of Chief Information Officer, Front Office.
As a Writer-Editor, you will perform analytical, qualitative, and administrative functions related to communications and writing/editing to improve the effectiveness and management of communication initiatives.
Duties
Coordinates with managers and staff to develop and maintain awareness of laws, special interests and areas of concern and sensitivity regarding policies, programs, and operations to ensure that information is factual and accurate.
Gathers, develops, and checks the accuracy of information from a wide range of sources, analyzes and selects pertinent information and determines the most logical and effective use of information.
Determines the overall organization and development of a variety of project materials including communication products, stakeholder engagement plans, data plans, and presentations.
Edits information for clarity and accuracy and prepares or arranges for graphics to support project materials.
Drafts, examines, and edits policy and program documents to ensure consistency of message, accuracy of statements, and appropriate branding, style and formatting.
Performs edit services on materials written by other team members that may be used for internal and/or external publications.
Coordinates, conducts, and facilitates large-scale organizational events and measures effectiveness by analyzing engagement feedback.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/12/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/12/2024.
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Developing standard operating procedures and policies related to organization's communication requirements, templates, and process governance.
Analyzing and identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions for documentation procedures.
Staying up to date on industry trends to support content development.
Developing simplified communications derived from technical information using a variety of formats, tailored to targeted audiences.
