This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, DOL, Base Ketchikan, Personnel Services Division, Detached Duty-Juneau, AK.
Duties
In this position, you will be responsible for the accomplishing of broad management functions associated with the execution of the Coast Guard Housing Program in the Juneau, AK area. The selectee is the principle point of contact with public and private agencies for housing management activities and referral services to Coast Guard personnel that are either transferring to or are currently located in the Juneau area. Work is performed under the guidance of the Area Housing Officer (AHO).

- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS 7 level: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal sector. Examples of specialized experience include: Examples include managing owned/leased housing program; locating adequate housing; making recommendations for owned/leased housing allocations; conducting inspection of housing units to evaluate cleanliness, maintenance, and habitability of the unit; and conducting surveys to identify housing requirements or deficiencies.
OR At least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level: Bachelors degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA)
S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
Election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society
OR Completion of one (1) full year of appropriate graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours, or the equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of the position to be filled for the required one year of specialized experience.; OR
A combination of education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for the position.
