About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Industrial Operations, at Letterkenny Army Depot, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
This is an upward mobility position WG 10,11,12.
Duties
Perform repairs on missile systems, electronics systems and chassis using test and console equipment/tools
Develop new test procedures to solve complex maintenance and repair problems on missile systems,
Consult with lower graded technicians and site personnel to localize and identify system component failures.
Determine if test equipment and procedures provide accurate information and follow testing requirements.
Apply new test procedures to the day-to-day work of aligning, calibrating, and/or repairing electronic assemblies and major components
Operate specialized test equipment to isolate problems and determine scope of repair required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Must be willing to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination annually and thereafter.

I can read blueprints, perform duties involving electronics theory and principles, use hand and power tools, and computer-aided programs to identify failures. PHYSICAL EFFORT Requires moderate physical effort to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Required to stoop, bend, and stand for prolonged periods and some assignments require climbing 20-to-50 foot heights.
WORKING CONDITIONS Works in well lighted heated and ventilated shop areas or at missile site and is occasionally subject to inclement weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns and shock caused by high voltage energy and soldering irons.
