The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior Logistics Management Specialist and manages the logistics operations for the acquisition, storage, and distribution of deployment gear to the entire AFOSI command and will oversee the weapons and ammo programs for AFOSI Head Quarters (HQ).

Duties
Manages, monitors, evaluates, and coordinates the activities of the Logistics Readiness Flight ensuring logistics operations complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Manages OSI deployment gear acquisition, storage, and distribution. Manages inventory levels based on deployment forecasting and customer requirements.
Manages AFOSI HQ Armory operations and the secure storage, accurate inventory, and efficient issuing of OSI weapons. Operates, maintains, and accounts for all AFOSI headquarters-assigned weapons and munitions.
Manages the Battlefield Airmen Rapid Refresh and Replenishment (BARs) Program. Serves as the primary technical subject matter expert on the BARs program for OSI command.

- The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for the position.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
- Employee must work under pressure. Emotional stability, tact, and maturity are necessary to cope with unusual and stressful situations.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes extensive knowledge of and proficiency with analytical and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in order to address issues pertaining to the efficacy and efficiency of program operations carried out by professional or administrative staff, or substantive administrative support functions, with an emphasis on supply, inventory control, budgeting, equipment procurement, and staff who support line or program operations. The position requires a thorough comprehension with the legislation, regulations, and precedents that impact how programs and associated support resources-such as personnel, funds, or equipment are used in the field of study. Knowledge of the goals, structure, and operational procedures of all programs under the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Command, as well as proficiency with both qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing and quantifying the productivity, efficacy, and efficiency of administrative and technical programs. Making recommendations based on knowledge regarding significant operational initiatives including armory operations and gear purchase procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of supply operations, program requirements, and administrative policies and practices to analyze, evaluate, and manage functions related to warehouse operations and armory operations.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions.
Skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and word and have experience in presenting supply metrics in a clear, concise and actionable manner to higher level personnel.
Ability to work well with others and encourage team cohesion and effectiveness; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing, train users, and provide assurance to customers.
Ability to innovate solutions to complex problem sets.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
