Duties

You will prepare input for program guidelines and special initiatives and prepares position papers. You will provide data and analysis on patterns of group and organizational behavior, social interaction, and social situations in which interaction occurs that may increase the likelihood of the commission of a criminal act You will plan and initiate interdisciplinary symposia, workshops, and other activities to stimulate knowledge development and advancement of research. You will evaluate, monitor or ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, research ethics, standards or procedures, especially as it pertains to information security/information assurance. You will assist in analyzing trends and patterns and providing insights into criminal problems to the other criminal topics on the team, which cover broad areas of investigative interest. You will

Requirements

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Manipulating and analyzing a large data set. Preference given to experience with law enforcement data sets. Experience as a research assistant or in systematic reviews of published research. GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Being a team lead or project manager in a data project or a Principal Investigator in a research study that utilized a large data set, preferably relating to law enforcement data. Education

Basic Requirements

  1. Degree: sociology; or social psychology or political science that included at least 24 semester hours in sociology.

    OR

  2. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in sociology (i.e., at least 24 semester hours), plus appropriate experience or additional education.
