Duties

You will update the Physical Security Plan, Loss Prevention Manual, Crisis Response instructions and provide recommendations regarding changes in security specifications. You will conduct Physical Security surveys to determine if any breaches of security, loss, or criminal activity have occurred. You will coordinate the command's security awareness and education program for command personnel. You will advise and represent the command in security planning conferences for security programs.

Requirements

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying security principles and procedures to plan and evaluate security programs for an installation; 2) Conducting annual physical security surveys to assess the adequacy of an installation's existing physical security measures; 3) Applying appropriate methods and techniques to ensure installation regulations/guidelines are administrated in accordance with the Physical Security program; and 4) Establishing and/or maintaining the lock and key control program procedures for security requirements, criticality, and vulnerability of resources and equipment to include entry and circulation control and intrusion detection systems used throughout the activity. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree;
OR
Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
