About the Position: You will serve as the Lifecycle Logistics Branch Chief within an ILSC Product Support Integration Division (PSID). This is a temporary position of one year and cannot be made permanent. It can be extended for up to three years in one year increments.

Duties

Serves as the Lifecycle Logistics Branch Chief within an ILSC Product Support Integration Division (PSID). Supervisory and management responsibilities for assigned personnel exercising integrated management control over tank-automotive vehicle system(s), complex subsystem(s), and/or commodity area(s) encompassing the major items and secondary end items. Reviews organizational elements and with the advice of key subordinates and staff elements, recommends plans and major changes to the Division Chief required to accomplish special projects, new missions, etc. Collaborates with DOD, AMC, TACOM LCMC, and other ILSC Center elements on major program changes affecting organizations, budgets, etc. Conducts review and analysis, determines the need for significant changes inorganizations, distribution of functions, or other matters which would facilitate greater effectiveness and efficiency of activities involved. Directs accomplishment of assigned functions in the PSID consisting of Technical Publications, New Equipment Training/Total Package Feeding, Integrated Logistics Support and Provisioning Support. Represents the Division Chief at meetings with higher echelons and with other TACOM LCMC activities with authority to make commitments for the Director. Also, acts in the full capacity of the Division Chief in his/her absence.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification at Level 3 (Advanced) within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • A 1-year probationary period is required unless already completed.
  • This is a Temporary position intended to last one year. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of three years (in one-year increments) and may be terminated at any time depending upon the needs of management.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position. Selectee must execute a written tenure agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Interpreting technical policy, procedures and regulations to ensure adherence to schedules and priorities; 2) Briefing leadership or key officials on program status and evaluate policies and proposals involving logistics support missions or programs; 3) Analyzing the impact of current activities on current and projected resources, to recommend feasible alternatives, to determine milestone events; AND 4) Establishing and/or leading teams to execute complex, multi-disciplinary logistics programs. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and EvaluatingStrategic Thinking This position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-14, step 10 base salary or if the incumbent's salary currently exceeds the GS-14, step 10 level the incumbent's salary will be put on a salary control point at the incumbent's existing salary.
