Duties
Formulates, oversees and evaluates the overall training programs for the command.
Develops and prepares annual operational and training budget requirements.
Evaluates organizational readiness reports and prepares recommendations for improvement/modification to organizational training programs.
Develops, reviews and adjusts command level deployment and contingency operation plans.
Directs scheduling and coordination for the use of training sites and facilities.
Develops and implements Risk Management plans and programs for the command.
Plans, organizes and assigns work to employees engaged in training, security and readiness at the command level.
Plans and organizes the work of the subordinates.
May serve as the security coordinator for the command.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications
MILITARY GRADES: O1 through O4
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experiences, education, or training that demonstrated the ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and that otherwise demonstrates the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience or knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Must have at least 12 months of specialized equivalent experience to the next lower grade.
Education
You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
