This position is responsible for managing and directing the operations of multiple field offices in the region that are tasked with conducting national security and suitability background investigations for Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.

As a SUPERVISORY INVESTIGATOR you will be responsible for the following duties:

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Extensive knowledge of background investigations procedures and operations, as well as, experience developing criteria, providing expert guidance, and coordinating plans/objectives of the program. Experience utilizing program analysis methods, procedures, and managerial principles to evaluate the effectiveness of program activities and to develop recommendations for improvement. Experience supervising, maintaining good work relationships with subordinates, building a team environment, and motivating personnel towards a common goal. Experience working with other regional managers to coordinate and achieve the national goals of the background investigations program. Experience using management techniques to plan, direct, and control meetings/conferences. The must have skills to enter this position are: Experience in background investigations (BI); utilizing effective workload strategies within a background investigative program; experience supervising and developing teams; and assessing the quality of interviews and reports of investigation Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1.
