The Incumbent serves in the Health Administrative Service who has direct responsibilities for developing and analyzing health administrative service programs for corporate Tampa. The incumbent has a high level of analytical ability, interpersonal skills, and data analysis and data base systems.
Duties
Major Duties Include:
Resolves HAS operating problems referred by service employees through application of equipment operating manuals and troubleshooting personnel.
Works closely with the Business Office on processes that affect revenue.
Provides reports of errors and corrective action taken to the Chief, Health Administration Service that may be forwarded to Central Office, VISN or Service Chiefs throughout the medical center.
Serves as a point of contact for the medical center on all training matters relating to the units of the Health Administration Service (HAS) computer system, coordinating training and monitoring the needs of users.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM- 4:00 PM

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/13/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Leads and conducts internal audits on compliance with directives, policies and procedures.
Incumbent actively seeks out errors, instructs employees on how to correct errors, and trains employees to avoid recurrence of errors.
Serves as a point of contact for the medical center on all training matters relating to the units of the Health Administration Service (HAS) computer system, coordinating training and monitoring the needs of users.
Experience with the computer system and have a knowledge of the total hospital data collection concept, including a variety of operating systems data bases, functions and options, terminal codes, language and computer applications.
Initiates ongoing data validation of VISTA initiated reports for Health Administration Service (HAS) to ensure accuracy of data.
Provides reports of errors and corrective action taken to the Chief, Health Administration Service that may be forwarded to Central Office, VISN or Service Chiefs throughout the medical center.

Physical Requirements: Position requires walking, standing, bending, and prolonged periods of sitting. The work is mostly sedentary; however, it occasionally requires carrying light objects such as files, books and papers.
