Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Duties
Provides Site-level Business Continuity Planning to include employing all subject areas of the common body of knowledge of Business Continuity Planning, which includes creating, testing, and evaluating plans at all levels.
Supports daily operations, exercises and real world crises by operating DFAS Site Operations Center (DSOC) secure equipment to transmit classified information.
Evaluates customer responses to requirements for business continuity planning and assist in identifying additional strategies for continued operations utilizing an all hazards approach.
Develops exercise plans to include Master Scenario Events List, timelines, objectives and facilitates exercise conduct.
Identify risks and internal controls in DFAS business continuity planning effort to ensure compliance with proper directives.
Analyzes the assets, systems, and capabilities needed to perform Mission Essential Functions and make recommendations regarding acceptable levels of risk.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: assisting with the oversight and program management of creating systems of prevention and recovery to deal with potential threats to an organization to include defining, establishing, and maintaining roles and responsibilities; providing training on business continuity principles; and serving as coordinator and advisor, communicating to management and internal/external customers on various projects.
Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
GS-11 Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. You

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement
