Duties
Prepare final design drawings from detailed sketches provided by Engineering Division staff engineers, craftsmen, foremen, contractors, and consultants for construction modifications.
Update Project drawings using Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) Advanced Modeling systems to reflect changed conditions or as-built.
Assist with orders, supplies, and major maintenance service including writing specifications for reprographic equipment and systems.
Exercise a high degree of initiative, judgement, and interpretation in searching out sources of information to analyze current condition of facility prints and maintenance information.
Collect data, analyze facility prints against existing conditions, and process and maintain all facility drawings.
Prepare documents for contract CADD services, track progress, and select methods for drawing distribution and quality control.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- Position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 10% of the duty time.

GS-02 - General Experience: Three months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with engineering aid.

Education: High school graduation (or equivalent). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience:A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 3. Then, divide your total credit hours of high school education by the total number of credit hours required for graduation as set by your high school. Add the two percentages.
GS-03 - General Experience: Six months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with analyzing drawings to determine the proper drawing specification to solicit personnel information to engineers; identifying proper file codes for a wide variety of engineering and technical documents; and creating engineering designs using computer-aided software to prepare final drawings provided by staff engineers to depict objects and features.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 6. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30. Add the two percentages.
GS-04 - General and/or Specialized Experience: Six months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with utilizing computer aided drafting and design tools to update and modify existing prints; performing a variety of administrative and technical engineering support duties for the agency; and managing current engineering drawing databases to identify proper file codes for engineering and technical documents. AND six months of specialized experience which includes analyzing drawings to determine the proper drawing specification to solicit personnel information to engineers; identifying proper file codes for a wide variety of engineering and technical documents; and creating engineering designs using computer-aided software to prepare final drawings provided by staff engineers to depict objects and features. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-03).

Education: Two years of education above the high school level. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-05 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes operating various equipment such as wide-format plotters, lettering equipment and label makers; performing day-to-day upkeep maintenance on printer, plotter, and other equipment; and collecting data, analyzing facility prints against existing conditions, and maintaining all facility drawings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with orders, supplies, and major maintenance service including writing specifications for reprographic equipment and systems; researching drawings cited by project name or number, contract number, facility, or other feature to determine the proper drawing required for the purpose; soliciting information from, or provide to, a variety of personnel including engineers and contractors; and managing a complete and current engineering drawing database and computerized index. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-07 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes exercising a high degree of initiative and judgement in searching out sources of information to analyze current condition of facility prints and maintenance information; preparing final design drawings from detailed sketches provided by staff engineers, craftsmen, and contractors for construction modifications; updating Project drawings using Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) Advanced Modeling systems to reflect changed conditions or as-built; preparing documents for contract CADD services, tracking progress, and selecting methods for drawing distribution and quality control; and consulting with project engineers and crews as appropriate before implementing changes or revisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
