The primary purpose of this position, POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC TRAINING LEADER, WL-5378-10, is to serve as a training and working leader to perform non-supervisor duties.
Duty Title: AGE Maintenance Trainer
Duties
Oversee the implementation of the master formal training plan.
Oversee civilian employees engaged in the troubleshooting, repair, modification, overhaul and rebuilding of electrical, hydraulic and refrigerant components on Powered and Non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE).
Apply experience and knowledge in troubleshooting, repair, modification, overhaul and rebuild electrical, hydraulic and refrigerant components on all items of Powered and Non-powered Aerospace Powered Support Systems.
Maintain professional working relations and demonstrate good communication skills with fellow employees, supervisors and all persons they come in contact with, both military and civilian.
Conduct training for lower graded employees in occupational practices up to the intermediate level or higher.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5300 Industrial Equipment Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent may be required to handle weight up to 50 pounds in the process of assembly and disassembly of equipment. The duties of this position require physical exertion involving standing, reaching, pulling, stepping, lifting, walking, and crouching.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Incumbent will normally work with adequate light and ventilation but may be required to work outside from time to time in inclement weather and high winds as well as all types of desert weather conditions.
