Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major Duties: Reaches out to Tribal veterans in his respective Tribal community and establish a working relationship with these veterans and related tribal/local veteran's agencies. Travels to meet with Tribal veterans either at their residence or a public place in the community. Informs Tribal veterans about available VA services. Works with the clinician and other community resources, to identify Tribal veterans who may benefit from mental health assessment or treatment. Recruits Tribal veterans to participate in the telehealth clinic. Assists Tribal veterans registering with the VA system. Ensures Tribal veterans scheduled for appointments have completed the appropriate consent forms and questionnaires prior to being seen in the clinic. Maintains forms and other clinic material in individual patient folders in a locked, secure file cabinet. Works with the clinician and orients new patients to the use of the videoconferencing system. Ensures patients receive clinic information and understand how to contact people in the VA system, link with other systems, and procedures in case of a psychiatric or medical emergency. Serves as a liaison with the clinic for the telehealth clinics coordination. Performs other duties as assigned. PART-TIME NOTE: This is a part-time position (10 hours/week). The salary listed represents full-time employment and will be pro-rated based on the actual number of hours worked each pay-period. Likewise, benefits and time-off accrual will also be prorated and based on your part-time work schedule. Work Schedule: Part-time, 10 hours per week. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicant(s) must meet one of the following: GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-3 level in the Federal service, that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Social Services Aid position to be filled. Qualifying general experience is: 1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation. Qualifying specialized experience includes serving as a group leader in community or residential recreation or training programs; serving as a counselor in a youth summer camp; serving as an instructor in a training program for the development of job skills; performing work that demonstrated the ability to be responsible for and to lead and train members of a job crew; serving as a group activities leader in the Armed Services; serving as a unit leader-monitor-proctor for a dormitory group in a boarding school or other residential facility; serving as an aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff in such fields as personnel (private or government), employment guidance in a vocational or academic institution, social service, or manpower development; serving as an aid or assistant to professional or associate staff engaged in work of a social services nature in private, public welfare, government program, or community organizations, or in voluntary activities; serving as an aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff working with individuals who are addicted to or abuse alcohol and/or drugs. Applicants with one year of specialized experience, do not need to meet 6 months of general experience. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.) -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): You must have successfully completed 2 years of study above high school that (a) included at least 12 semester hours of subjects directly related to the work of the position, or (b) was supplemented by experience in activities that afforded the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate the skills required by the position. The supplementary experience may have been gained, for example, in part-time or summer employment, in volunteer social welfare or recreation programs, or in community organizations. (COPY OF UNOFFICIAL OR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) -OR- COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:You must possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-4 level. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE AND COPY OF UNOFFICIAL OR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: CommunicationsCustomer ServiceTechnology ApplicationVeteran and Customer Focus IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work in this primarily requires sitting for periods of time, walking, standing and occasionally reaching or bending.
