Duties
Maintains office files in accordance with regulatory guidance.
Receives and disseminates incoming mail.
Maintains suspense date logs to meet multiple deadlines.
Completes and responds to inquiries regarding travel.
Provides project updates in various internal meetings and interactions.
Receives and screens telephone calls and refers them to appropriate staff.
Reviews documents to verify correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Types a variety of memorandums and prepares documentation in final form using correct grammar, spelling, and format.
Provides support to other administrative staff.
Utilizes Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), software to prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
Utilizes automated systems to enter, manipulate, and retrieve information for both recurring and special reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- The duties of this position require travel up to approximately 20% of the time.
- This position requires the skill of a qualified typist.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as,1) Performing clerical duties such as answering and screening incoming telephone calls and answering basic questions; 2) Preparing correspondence using correct format, spelling, grammatical accuracy, and factual correctness; and 3) Utilizing office automation software such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
