About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army MSCoE, Chemical School, 3rd Chemical Brigade, Chemical Surety . Fort Leonard Wood is located in South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along 1-44 and Springfield is more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Serve as the property and supply technician with responsibility for the requisition, documentation, and physical control of property, supplies, and equipment for use in Motor Transport Operator’s course training. Perform a wide variety of supply clerical duties within an automated supply system such as receiving, reviewing, and interpreting a variety of supply regulations, bulletins, and manuals. Review policies and procedures to ensure accuracy with written laws and regulations to include written procedures for implementation of safety prevention activities. Coordinate the collective efforts of other organizational elements across the MSCoE to assure a cohesive safety and occupational health program. Analyze drawings, plans, and specifications from a safety stand point for critical, new or modified facilities, equipment fixtures, processes, utilities, and operations. Assure safety hazards are recognized, evaluated, and controlled to an acceptable level prior to their implementation in the workplace. Schedule inspections to focus on areas involving hazardous materials and those with a history of accident occurrences. Compile and analyze mishap statistics and reports to identify adverse trends and to determine systemic causes and counter measures. Represent MSCoE Surety Office in meetings with higher headquarters, other federal and state agencies, contractors, professional societies and associations, visitors, and the public on a variety of safety and occupational health matters.

• Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
• This position requires wear of uniform and/or protective gear.
• Position occasionally requires the wearing of respiratory protective devices.
• Employees may not have beards, sideburns, or other hair that will negate the effectiveness of the respiratory equipment by preventing an effective face-to-face piece seal. May be required to wear a supplied air escape device.
• A Secret Clearance is required for this position.
