As a Supply Management Specialist within the Research Systems Integration Branch of the Research Services Directorate (RSD), you will lead a team in providing direct support of aircraft maintenance, operations, and modification through inventory management of all aircraft parts, specialty tools, and HAZMAT, ensuring that items and tracked, stored, controlled, and disposed of in accordance with NASA, LaRC, and RSD policies and procedures.

Duties

Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee. Leads a team supporting the Research Systems Integration Branch (RSIB) with inventory management of aircraft parts, specialty tools, and HAZMAT. Ensures that items are tracked, stored, controlled, and disposed according to policies/procedures. Leads a team in the logistics management of aircraft parts and equipment from cradle to grave including, ordering, receiving, cataloging, storing, issuing, and excessing, all in accordance with NASA, LaRC, and RSD policies and procedures. Manages use of parts and tools storage workspaces. Ensures spaces are maintained in a clean, orderly, organized, and efficient manner Prioritizes and communicates daily tasking for RSIB supply personnel. Develops long range plans for lifecycle management of aircraft parts and equipment, considering obsolescence, commercial availability, and appropriate on-site storage capacity and use. Evaluates supply functions, facilities, and processes, communicates opportunities for improvements or efficiency, and implements changes. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Performing inventory or supply management of aircraft parts using supply software or databases; Working with diverse teams to support the planning of strategic objectives related to aviation, logistics, or supply and transportation programs/projects; Interpreting and complying with policy, processes, and procedures related to aircraft logistics and supply functions. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Assessing inventory or supply management of aircraft parts using supply software or databases; Collaborating with diverse teams and supporting the planning and implementation of strategic objectives for aviation, logistics, or supply programs/projects; Monitoring and assessing contractor performance activity to ensure compliance with policy, processes, and procedures related to aircraft logistics and supply functions.
