About the Position: This position will serve as Chief of the Acquisition Branch with overall responsibility for accomplishment of the real estate acquisition program required for civil works projects in the St. Paul District Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul, MN.

Duties
Responsible for planning, directing, administering, and correlating various projects and programs and accomplishing such projects and programs through subordinate staff.
Directs, coordinates, and controls the activities of employees engaged in the Federal real estate acquisition activities for all St. Paul District projects.
Participates in the solution of controversial or more difficult real estate and appraisal problems.
Represents the agency in negotiations of highly complex and sensitive situations involving acquisition of interest of real property.
Responsible for the overall planning, administration, and supervision of subordinate staff to accomplish program objectives.
Requirements
- Business travel up to 10% of the time.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the federal service which includes: 1) Managing acquisition programs for civil works projects or similar initiatives; 2) acquiring lands for local sponsor projects and direct projects; 3) negotiating highly complex and sensitive real property interests on behalf of organizational stakeholders; 3) reviewing matters under relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., Uniform Act) to ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations. 4) overseeing real estate project milestones and budgets for assigned projects.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
