About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Special Operations Command - South, Intelligence Directorate, duty location Homestead AFB, FL.

Duties

Serves as Senior Intelligence Specialist responsible for all-source research and analysis, intelligence production, indications and warnings. Responsible for providing intelligence analysis support on a variety of threats and current issues of concern to Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH). Conducts in-depth, all-source research and threat analysis of terrorist, violent extremist organizations, regional malign state actors, and other assigned regional and geographical topics of concern to SOCSOUTH and U.S. national interests. Evaluates threats and predicts future actions potentially affecting U.S. or Allied interests within the AOR and/or in response to U.S. national, military, and strategic objectives. Develops long-range estimates and projections on assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR). Provides requisite program management for intelligence analytic programs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter, in accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel expected 10% and varies; but will include CONUS and OCONUS on very short notice. May require frequent extended duty with long hours under high pressure and generally high-profile, high-risk analytical responsibilities.
  • Shift work, irregular tours of duty and/or extended duty may be required. Incumbent is subject to no notice call ins during nonduty hours for crisis action, contingency deployments, and other short notice operations.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial period may be required.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: All-Source Intelligence AnalysisGeneral Military Intelligence (GMI) AnalysisResearchingThreat Assessment Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
