You will serve as a IT Specialist (DATAMGT) in the Corporate Operations Office, IT Systems Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will analyze and define data requirements and specifications.
You will create data models using Kimball methodology, industry best practices, and standard processes to ensure high quality data to reduce redundance and support efficient reporting.
You will develop and execute test protocols for technical integration to include configurations, updates, patches, and changes.
You will establish test criteria to ensure the most efficient use of the data modeling structure design.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing data modeling guidelines for use in the development of data management applications; 2) Conducting systems maintenance (e.g., upgrading, debugging) for continued system operability; 3) Interpreting and applying IT/IM policies and guidelines to ensure system compliance; and 4) Performing application software functionality testing through software test cases to maintain a high quality product.
In addition, your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector for the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:
1 full year (18 hours) of graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
