Duties

As a grounds and facility maintenance laborer with the California-Great Basin Region, your duties and responsibilities will include: Mowing and edging lawns and other grounds areas. Trimming trees, shrubs and hedges. Assisting with routine carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical maintenance work. Performing work involved in the cleaning and care of buildings and facilities. Operating light duty motor vehicles (e.g., pickup trucks/sedans, flatbed trucks, etc.) to transport materials, equipment, and/or passengers to and from work sites. Placing pre-mixed concrete and performing minor concrete repair work. Taking proper care of tools and equipment used for work assignments. Completing and maintaining work records and reports. Lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds; pushing furniture items on dollies, carts, etc. Following proper safety procedures due to the nature of the work, the types of tools and equipment used, and the weight of objects handled. Performing other related duties as assigned within this classification.
