About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.
This position is with the 7th Signal Command, 106th Signal Brigade, Command Section located at FORT CARSON, COLORADO.
Duties
Coordinates, compiles, and maintains Assessment and Authorization documentation to accompany the installation request for accreditation from the appropriate accreditation authority within the agency requirements and time frames.
Works closely with Configuration and Change Management (CCM), Business Continuity, and Cybersecurity Teams to coordinate and document changes that affect Assessment and Authorization documentation packages.
Provides Cybersecurity analytical, technical, and documentation support of Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) for unclassified and classified networks.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to higher authority cybersecurity standards, policies, and objectives as defined in Army and other DoD related policies.
Evaluates, monitors, and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures.
Ensures ISSMs, ISSOs, systems users, and network users are properly indoctrinated as to their duties and responsibilities to ensure Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of official Government information and systems.
Ensures implementation of sound security principles and the rigorous application of information security (IS)/cybersecurity policies and practices in the delivery of IT services.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Manual 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Management, 15 February 2023.
- Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance, Investigation T3. This position is designated as ADP level II.
- TDY up to 20% may be required.
- Incumbent is required to obtain Foundational Qualification at Intermediate level within 6 months of assignment to this position as determined by 8140.03.
- Overtime an on-call duty may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements.
- Required to perform 24 X 7 shift work in support of operational IT related mission/after duty hours on call/emergency requirements.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: Evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures sufficient to develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities; analyzing and evaluating cybersecurity tools and procedures and provide advice and guidance on implementing cybersecurity policy, procedures, and systems to ensure they are in compliance with standards; Isolating and analyzing relevant data to conduct analyses of complex issues.
