Duties

Lead shift security guards and police officers performing law enforcement duties. Direct plans for specific police response to emergencies and force protection planning. Ensure assigned personnel properly execute law enforcement. Contribute to ratings and reports on assigned personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must pass initial and annual medical examinations.
  • Must pass initial and semi-annual weapons qualifications.
  • This is a Mission Essential Position.
  • Designated drug-testing position – Must pass initial drug test and subject to random drug testing.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must possess a valid, State-issued motor vehicle license.
  • Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Must pass initial and annual physical ability/agility test.
  • Must meet annual training and re-certification requirements.
  • Must complete initial and annual CPR and First Aid requirements.
  • Must be able to work shifts, overtime and weekends, as required.
  • Must wear the prescribed uniform and maintain a high standard of appearance and hygiene.
  • Must be able to wear chemical-protection requirement, as required.
  • Must qualify and remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program.
  • Graduated from the US Army Civilian Police Academy or graduate within 12 months of hire or current employee and considered grandfathered IAW AR 190-56 or have a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
