Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Patrick Space Force Base is searching for a Telecommunications Specialist for SLD 45/SC (NH-0391-02, GS 05/11 equivalent).
Description:
To provide technical guidance, and comprehensive solutions for telecommunication requirements satisfying delta and tenant communications requirements. Manage and monitor telecommunication resources to ensure services are available to meet the 45th Space Launch Delta Mission requirements. Provide operations and maintenance support for all SCOI telecommunication resources.
Employee carries out recurring assignments independently; Conducts successive activities with objectives and priorities identified by supervisor or team leader; assistance given on new or unusual projects or situations. Position involves 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Practical knowledge of telecommunications theories, concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards, and operational requirements.
2. Knowledge of operational and performance characteristics of telecommunications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media to inspect, repair, and maintain IAW operational requirements.
3. Knowledge of safety and occupational health practices as they relate to electronic technician performance requirements.
4. Knowledge of basic electronics theory and operating principles, the application of existing and planned technology to communications requirements, and equipment interoperability and compatibility.
6. Ability to analyze/apply specialized communication methods and analytical techniques involving telecommunication systems
7. Knowledge and ability to implement telecommunication solutions IAW industry standards.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This position is eligible for regular, and reoccurring telework, 2-4 days per pay period. Employee must reside within commuting distance of worksite.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- PCS and Incentives are not authorized.

- Be required to possess a valid operator’s license in order to drive a motor vehicle to and from the work center.
- This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position held, within six months of filling position
